DNA House
The initial objective of the project was to create cost-efficient, elegant and user-friendly conference rooms that would remain functional in the future. The design phase resulted in DNA’s standardized VAKIO meeting room template, which has been used in several DNA office buildings from Helsinki to Oulu. Presson set up all the 45 conference rooms of the DNA House.
The new DNA House was completed in Metsälä, Helsinki in 2012, and more than 500 DNA employees work there. The head office is part of DNA’s new office area reform, intended to provide the staff with a workspace that is both inspiring and flexible and that encourages to adapt a variety of working methods.
The office building was constructed by YIT, its main architect was Paula Jaatinen from Parviainen Arkkitehdit Oy, and the interior was decorated by dSign Vertti Kivi & Co experience. Presson has designed the building’s AV solutions and provided the AV systems of the conference rooms.
The initial objective of the design project was to create cost-efficient, elegant and user-friendly conference rooms that would remain functional in the future. The different purposes of the rooms were surveyed carefully, and many ideas were created with different groups of users. The purpose of the meetings was to allow as many users as possible to have an effect on the quality of the end result through suggestions. The long design phase resulted in DNA’s standardized VAKIO meeting room template, which has been used in several DNA office buildings from Helsinki to Oulu.
A variety of conference rooms from silent rooms for two to three persons to a 157-person auditorium were created for DNA. As the entire staff of DNA cannot fit into one auditorium, video and audio feeds can be streamed to the cafeteria on the other side of the building. This enables the entire staff to participate in events. In addition to the conference rooms, an INFO system that covers all of DNA’s offices in Finland was also created.
Before the construction of the new head office was completed, Presson set up conference rooms in accordance with the VAKIO template in two other DNA office buildings in order to allow the customer to test the concept and gather feedback. It was easy to move from design to implementation based on the successful solutions.
