Project Description

Valio

The Valio head office experienced the constantly tangled cables of the conference rooms as a nuisance.

“The atmosphere here is somewhat excited. We have had to calm people down and follow the plan instead of thinking too much ahead. Successful implementations have even inspired introducing the system quickly elsewhere.”

Facility Manager Jussi Domin

The issue of constantly tangled cables in Valio’s conference rooms was to be solved at the same time as the appearance of the rooms was redesigned. Even if the cables were put in a neat bundle, they would be tangled the same evening after being used. A permanent solution was required.

“We noticed that we couldn’t make it on our own. The cables did not remain in a neat order simply by giving instructions, but they tended to be left in a tangled heap after the room had been used.”

“We realized that the issue won’t go away unless something to keep the cables in order was done. Our business premises include shared facilities such as lobbies, auditoriums and large training areas, and we also have these conference rooms for 10 people. We started with the conference rooms, and once we proceeded to the meeting rooms, new requirements, such as entire AV systems and their audio and video feeds, were identified. The development project has expanded significantly.”

“We have now renovated six conference rooms and two training areas at our head office. Design work for six more is still underway. Our intention was to re-decorate these rooms, but we also decided to look into cables and technology while we were at it.”

Have your requirements been met?

“Deadlines have been observed, and basically everything has been going smoothly. Implementation according to the plan has been successful. The process has progressed really well and in a positive atmosphere. Our requirements and issues have been met and solved.”

Have you received feedback?

“We haven’t planned for anything particularly grandiose to be done in the 30-year-old premises of our head office. We decided to renovate the conference rooms with the primary intention to promote our brand image. We have received positive feedback regarding the fresh decorative solutions and appearance. The issue of tangled cables was also resolved successfully, and the improvements in the training areas’ AV technology have been welcomed very well.”

“Most of our furniture is old furniture that has been repaired and re-upholstered wherever necessary. Some new furniture has been made for the larger training areas. Holes for the technological interfaces have been made in the old tables of these areas, and we haven’t heard any complaints.”

“People have been satisfied with the technology. These solutions have been implemented with reasonably low costs, which was probably a major reason behind the decision. The costs have remained within the budget compared with the esthetic repairs and decoration work. However, we are pretty much tied in terms of expenditure, which means we spend approximately the same amount of money on technology and AV solutions and on papering work and decorations.”

To whom would you recommend Presson’s products and services?

“I can recommend these for similar companies that have conference rooms, training facilities and a need for appropriate equipment, tidiness and orderliness.”

What are your thoughts now?

“The atmosphere here is somewhat excited. We have had to calm people down and follow the plan instead of thinking too much ahead. Successful implementations have even inspired introducing the system quickly elsewhere.”

“The message has been heard even outside our office. Parts of our office in Vantaa have at least been renovated, and people from other offices have been calling us about how we managed to solve certain issues. I believe some tables have already been delivered.”
